The genuine mould-made etching board manufactured on a cylinder mould machine is distinguished by its high volume and its suppleness. With the mat, velvety, living looking surface particularly striking prints can be achieved. This product was designed with regard to the exacting user in such a way that is can be used for all prints the look and surface of which require a high quality. Thus even finest lines can be shown with both pigmented and dye-based inks on various printing systems. Color prints are reproduced in highest brilliance. The velvety rough surface gives a nearly authentic look to reproductions of etchings, aquatinta, lithographs, wood engravings etc. All the fine papers and board from the mould made paper mill at Hahnemühle are manufactured in accordance to DIN 6738 / ISO 9706. All papers produced as per these standards are 100% acid-free and have a neutral ph-value, so that they are extremely non-ageing over several centuries.

For quality reasons the processing and storage of “German Etching” should take place in a climate from 35-65% relative humidity and at a temperature from 10-30°C.
