Overview of color profiles
DuPont™ Tyvek® is a brilliant white polyethylene spun-bonded fabric that retains its high tear resistance even when it is wet or has been scored. This low cost print substrate is suitable for use indoors and outdoors. Tyvek® EXPO combines a low surface weight with relatively high material strength, making it a specific, exceptionally light print medium. As well as the classic applications such as pop-up displays and banners, Tyvek® EXPO can be used for carrier bags and race start numbers. It looks like paper and has a single-sided matte white inkjet coating that allows high resolution, brilliant colour prints. Printed with pigmented aqueous or EcoSolvent inks, the prints are water-resistant and suitable for outdoor applications for periods of up to 6 months. Optimal water-resistance is achieved if the print is left for 24 hours before being further processed. Full-surface prints reveal the structural characteristics typical of DuPont™ Tyvek®. This product can also be folded without any significant cracking of the surface.
Processing and storage of Tyvek® EXPO should take place in a climate from 35 to 65% relative humidity and at a temperature from 10-30°C. It should be stored cool, dry, clean, and dustfree in its original packaging. Wear cotton gloves and handle carefully as surface is susceptible to abrasion and/or fingermarks.
